AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a surprising partnership that defies traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "A strange confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the shadows." The plot presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a hidden sect.
The questline centers on "peculiar tests and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Bonus Material
Players who finish the mission will obtain an exclusive katana together with several items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Third Free Story Update
This release also brings the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime franchises. The series formerly featured a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
